Brief 06 - 4D Animation
Then finally we move on to the final brief, which appropriately is 4D. It is becoming more and more important for illustrators to be able to animate their work as it gives you a bigger range of clients and more markets. The brief was to make a one minute informative animation including sound, as an educational video so the viewer has a broader understanding of our subject while at the same time keeping them entertained and glued to the video. I was not daunted by the idea of making an animation, as we had made an animation the semester before for another module. Again, by choosing from the envelope of destiny to pick our subject, I was assigned Lady Jane Grey. I had heard about her before but I didn't have a lot of information on her, so I started researching and writing my script. For the animation itself I drew huge inspiration from the game Alice Madness Returns as their cut scenes are absolutely gorgeous and they manage to make quite dynamic scenes by moving flat limbs and adding shake effects to intense moments. The video is linked down below. The sound effects I made myself, and was an easy way I could add some flare to the video. The music I got from YouTube's Audio Music Library, and it was free to use.
